TRIMESTER I


Concepts in Financial Planning and Wealth Management
Introduction to basic concepts in Financial Planning and Wealth Management including financial mathematics, financial planning and wealth management processes, Legal regulatory and ethical issues. Emphasis on Financial Planning and Wealth Management Industry trends as well as opportunities in the Indian market.

Risk Management and Insurance Planning
Examines the principles of risk management and insurance to identify a client’s risk exposure and to select appropriate risk management technique. This course also dwells upon basic insurance products both in life and general insurance space. The students would learn to analyze the medical, disability, life and general insurance needs and methods of determining the type of insurance best suited to the client’s situation.

Economics for Financial Markets
The course would cover important principles of Micro and Macroeconomics with stress on Economic Management and Financial Markets. The students would be encouraged to understand how global economic events have happened and may recur. The topics would include Stock, Bonds, Derivatives, and Markets. Capital Market processes and their activities including IPO, Depositories etc. The course would also include fiscal and monetary policies, foreign exchange markets. The students should be able to relate financial and economic news to effect on the customer portfolio and learn how to evaluate a country’s economy to suggest client investment in that particular country.

Basic Quantitative Tools for Financial Analysis
This course builds up the quantitative skills of the participants to compute and understand the methodology of forecasting, advanced financial analysis and valuation of complex securities. The topics include probability theory, regression analysis, correlation and covariance etc

Corporate Finance
The subject would have two parts one Basic Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Management. The course will discuss key accounting concepts, conventions, ratios etc.
The course will also examine the concept of Discounted Cash Flows, Hurdle Rate, Cost of Capital, Capital Structure and Dividend Policy.

Principles of Marketing
The subject would cover Basic Principles of Marketing; the students would learn concepts like 4 P’s, Branding, Consumer Behavior, Segmentation, Niche Marketing, Advertising, Marketing Research.


TRIMESTER II


Retirement Planning and Employee Benefit
This course focuses on retirement need, analysis techniques and the process to be used when developing a retirement plan. The emphasis is on the process of Wealth creation and wealth preservation. The Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Public Provident Fund (PPF), Superannuation Fund and other schemes which may be used in planning for retirement, are also reviewed.

Investment Planning
This course reviews all categories of investments, client assessment techniques, economic factors, risk and return analysis, valuation methods, asset allocation techniques used in portfolio construction and portfolio management are reviewed

Portfolio Management and Structuring
Focus on Wealth Management Tools for growing wealth of the client. It includes Fundamental and Technical Analysis of Common Stock and analytical tools used for Portfolio Evaluation, concepts in Technical Analysis, charting and technical indicators, stock selection for equity analysis.

Basic Investment Products for Wealth Management

Advance Financial Planning
This course builds upon the knowledge attained in the previous courses and integrates all aspects of personal finance that are required for constructing a comprehensive financial plan. The students will learn the finer points of gathering and analyzing client data, developing, recommending and implementing appropriate strategies, and finally the important aspects related to ongoing monitoring and assessment of financial plans.

Advanced Investment Products for Wealth Management
The participants will be provided with both the theoretical and practical knowledge regarding advanced products in wealth management.
